We went to see the not-in-laws this weekend to visit. Had a great time! Hunter loved it and they all loved Hunter!
We got to relax out of the 9x degree weather and talk and play with the neices, who were also there.
While in Iowa Park, we got to see Markita’s Mom & Dad and Uncle & Aunt and their daughter and friend. And went to the mall. It was just not the same as we had remembered it. All the fountains were gone and the stores had been rearranged. But it still had the skylights, couldn’t miss those. We had both grown up in the area and Wichita Falls was the place to go shopping, and the only mall around for miles and miles.
Hunter and the girls had a wonderfull time in Bryson too. They got to play with the dog, all the chickens, the duck, the squirrel, the rabbits, and the cows. There was 2 baby cows for them to see. We brought some cake out and they took turns feeding it to the cows. It was amazing to see Alex, who is afriad of small dogs, actually feed a 900 pound cow!
And Mom & Dad cooked an excellent meal! Fresh green beans and potatos, pickled beets, macaroni & tomatos, and buttered dodger.
I brought back several starts of our wild garlic (the elephant varaity), and some starts from our wild schallots to put in the flowerbeds and around the new house.
I also found a relaxing time to shoot the single-shot .410 at a feedsack for awhile.
Then everyone else wannted to join in… Alex (her first time with a shotgun) and Hunter (was close enough to see how it worked)… and Markita… Miss-I’m-a-star-skeet-shooter

What is buttered dodger? Anything with butter sounds good.
That’s what Hunter would say – he LOVES butter!
It is like fried cornbread, kinda flat and hard. An old family recipe. My family eats alot of stuff that is kind of hillbillyish… maybe I will post some recipes on my website…
YES! Post that recipe. NOW! (please, I’m hungry)
I shot trap, not skeet….and don’t hate me because I’m a superstar
Anything like POKE SALAD?
no, but goes really well with it
