Dell says it finds evidence of financial misconduct, errors

By Michelle Kessler, USA TODAY

“It’s still too early to say if Dell will have to restate prior earnings, the company said. The disclosure comes amid many troubles for Dell. The company lost the No. 1 PC-maker spot to Hewlett-Packard last year, and several key executives left in a recent management shake-up.”

memory

I watched the show about Memory on the Science channel, again.  And this time I noticed that they showed the lady that Momento was based on (or, who I believe it was).  She was not into tat’s, but she did have sticky notes to get her started in the mornings, and then she had an elaborate note system in a book, with maps, pictures, etc. Hard to function, not having short-term memory.

I have a good friend that was involved in a viloent motorcycle wreck when he was younger, and received a head injury.  As a result, he lost most of his long-term memory.  I believe this is called a 1st term amnesic?  He had his facilities, could even still play guitar.  But had no idea who the people were around him.  Losing long-term memory is very sad, at any age.

Memory is a very interesting subject.  The way the brain stores it, a flavor of it over here, part of the image over here, part over there, the sound over here, the feeling over there, etc.  Pulling from all those places to combine into an actual “memory”.  (seems defragment is of no use here, heh)

I remember when I was staying with my grandparents, helping take care of them.  My mamma would holler down the hall at me during the night…  and then I would sit on her bed and we would talk about things that she was just “thinking” about..  Like opening a bottle of champange when WWII was over and when she saw the first airplane fly over.  And I remember when my granddad had his stroke, and my aunt said that there was no way he would be able to ‘talk’ to me.  And I sat on his bed and talked to him about cutting down bee trees when he was a boy.  He could remember where all the trees were (I know, because I know where they are too, hehe), and where all the old saws where, and who he used to do it with, etc.  My aunt was astounded.

But, he’s so cute when he does it :D

ME am 98

You are Windows 98. You're a bit flaky, but well-liked. You don't have a great memory, but everyone seems to know you. A great person to hang out with and play some games.

evil friends

“An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.”
