spent the weekend traveling around.
watched my niece graduate high school.
visited with an old friend & her family. her mom and sister were there too, so that was nice.
got to see my parents and had a nice visit.
there were lots of mushrooms out, since is has been raining so much, me and my mom went on a “fungus expedition”, naming and photographing them.
having me there really made my dad happy. he walked around more with me there. we walked out in the garden, picked some squash, and watched the storm clouds.
but found out his congestive heart failure is getting worse. and i am very scared about that…
and on monday i made sure to think about my dads time on his aircraft carrier, my great uncle manning the machine gun in his underwear during pearl harbor, my uncles time on his destroyer, my great uncles time flying through japan right after the enola gay, and my cousins time in the rangers, another cousins hard time as part of the lost battalion, and all the others…

i will be around Denton & Fort Worth this weekend.
Let me know if any of yall wanna meet up.
oh, i so love Mangos!!!
here is something interesting I found about them:
“A comfort food. Mangos really can make you feel better! Beyond being delicious and rich in vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants, mangos contain an enzyme with stomach soothing properties similar to papain found in papayas. These comforting enzymes act as a digestive aid and can be held partially responsible for that feeling of contentment we experience during and after our daily mango ritual. Yes, it is quite natural to crave those mangos!”
So, now I will call it my “daily mango ritual”
little late, but another present for my birthday was michelle shocked’s new compilation – “threesome“. it’s wonderful, i love it.
i have been a huge fan since the Texas Campfire days. i remember being at the Kind Hearted Woman concert in Dallas… and after drinking a few ‘bat bites’… and yelling for her to play “come a long way“… i could have swore she looked down at me on the front row and played it for me
(although she did cut into the middle of the song she was playing to play it, or maybe it was to make me shut up, HA)
then, after the show when she was signing autographs… i jumped and spralled across the bar and asked her to sign the back of my shirt… while she was leaning over, i asked if she would come skate with me sometime, ha… she said “you know what..” and I was like WHAT??? (all excited – yeah freaky me)… then she says, go over there to (so-and-so), can’t remember his name, and he can get a stamp out for you, and put the cat stamp on your shirt.
so that was cool.. now i have a signed shirt, and the ‘cat’ stamp. so that means i’m a kind hearted woman, or is that hobo-speak
Bat Bites

Add 2 1/2 oz rum to about 6 oz juice squeeze lime into glass ice it drink it
i am going to start using my other posting name “munchicken”, rather than “crazygirl”, going forward. Due to the fact that i am not crazy, heh. And something about things at 2600…
