lasertag

Hunter’s cousin had her birthday party this weekend at laserquest in San Antonio. It was a nice place, black lights & fog, and a big two-story maze with windows, grates, and mirrors. Hunter was SO cute with his big vest on and the big laser gun. I followed him around and had more fun watching him than playing myself (ha, sometimes I couldn’t shoot anyway because when I turned around he would shoot me, and keep me on the 5 sec. timer).

where’s the crickets?

the other day we had a bag full of crickets for the frog and spider. after feeding the frog, I just left the bag open and leaned it up against the wall, it was a tall bag, so it wouldn’t fall over. So, the next morning there was a problem with the cricket’s… they all seemed to be dead… a closer look found a little wolf spider in there just a smilin’

Great Wolf Lodge

We spent a few days at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine the other day with a friend and her daughter (little younger than Hunter).

They have a huge indoor waterpark (80,000 square-foot). We were in the “Wolf Den” suite. It had a little room painted up like a wolf den that had bunk beds in it. Hunter loved it! They had a couple of cafes and a ice cream shop, although I did not care much for their dinner. They also had a big arcade, Hunter had fun their as well. In the lobby they had huge (fake) live oaks, one with a tree house in it. And a big fireplace with stuffed wolves overlooking it. And a window overlooking the waterpark.

The waterpark had everything that you would expect, big slides, kiddy section with a fort in the middle and some small slides and many ways to squirt water on your Mimi, and a large fort with all sorts of water apparatuses, a basketball pool, and a wave pool. They also had a lazy river, much like Schlitterbahn. I really liked the river, just laying back and floating. The slides were fun, but the best was the Howlin’ Tornado. It had a big drop and then a large area to go round-n-round. Noone liked it but me and Hunter. I can’t wait to go again :)

beamer

i was replacing an alternator on a friend’s BMW the other day, and had a little laugh… there was a tag on the new alternator saying to examine the rear of the alternator with a “torch”, and I thought, hmm that’s dangerous. and while hunting down the battery (which was buried in the trunk), I saw a reference to “look under the bonnet”, it was then that I decided they were not talking Texan – they were saying “flashlight & hood” rather than “fire & hats”, ha.
